Description

It was a heavy tank known for its great armored protection at the beginning of the German invasion of the Soviet Union. It was practically immune to 37 mm anti-tank guns and to the first versions of Panzer III and Panzer IV deployed by the German Army in Operation Barbarossa. The protection, which reached 90 mm at the front (glacis and turret), was unrivaled for the time, except for some British or French equivalent, but far ahead of any German tank. It mounted a 76.2 mm F-32 gun (L-11) as main armament.
