Description

It was the first long-barreled version of the StuG III. It made its appearance in March 1942 incorporating the 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/43 gun, a longer gun that would greatly improve its overall firepower. Thanks to its relatively cheap price, its light silhouette, its fully protected superstructure and its new gun, together with well-trained and motivated crews, a highly deadly vehicle was created.
